Pre-Made Flute Shop Temporarily Paused
“PassionFlute is moving forward quickly!
With demand for custom orders increasing, as well as several exciting new flutes being in development, I’ve decided to temporarily pause the Pre-Made shop.
Rather than keeping a small selection of older models in stock, I’m taking a step back to focus on what I believe PassionFlute does best: creating fantastic custom made flutes and developing new instruments.
This break also allows me to rethink what the Pre-Made shop could become.
When it returns, it will feature fantastic, up to date instruments that reflect my current standards for sound, tuning and craftsmanship-and may even feature some limited special instruments in very small quantities!
In the meantime, all models remain available through the Custom Order page, with each flute being made with care for the individual player who orders it.
If you need your flute made faster than the typical turnaround time, get in touch! I may be able to arrange an express build, or might already have a suitable demo model on hand.
And if you’re keen to know when the Pre-Made store returns or when our exciting new models are released, join the PassionFlute Updates list below. We’ll make sure you’re the first to know!
Thank you so much for your support, I can’t wait to show you what’s around the corner!”

Standing on the Shoulders of Giants
Most piccolos are shrill, but this one is different.
Inspired by the work of legendary flute maker Terry McGee, this design reimagines the piccolo for folk and traditional music. Its extra-wide conical bore blends the tuning stability associated with classical instruments with the rich, expansive tonal philosophy of Irish flute making.
The result is a piccolo with warmth, depth, and musicality rarely found in instruments of this size.
What Players Are Saying
“Concert-tuned, mellow with a rich resonate sound that can be played quietly in the upper registers (!), the Irish D piccolo I ordered is the best I ever played.”
— Paige Porter-Buhl, Google Reviews
“…Brilliant craftsmanship, beautiful design and very easy for a beginner to play. The amount of effort and knowledge that goes into every variation is astonishing and well worth checking out for both beginners and professionals alike.”
— Cameron Harries, Google Reviews
A Piccolo for Folk Bands and Recording Studios
With a fingering system and scale familiar to whistle and Irish flute players, the Perform Irish Piccolo feels immediately intuitive in the hands.
Its tone is pleasingly mellow — quieter, rounder, and more refined than traditional piccolo or fife designs — making it particularly well-suited to indoor playing, ensemble settings, and recording environments.
Combined with the integrated brass-cork tuning slide, this instrument is designed for musicians who value stability, blend, and expressive tonal character.
Typical two octave range from D5-D7. Extended range fingerings above D7 included in fingering chart.

A Sound to Fall in Love With
The PassionFlute Play in G4 is our most widely loved Play model, cherished for its spectacularly mellow, richly expressive tone.
Experienced metal flute players often find themselves drawn to its distinctive character, keeping it close at hand simply for the joy of playing. Beginners, meanwhile, consistently praise its ease of response and flattering nature.
If you dream of playing a low conical flute, inspired by Irish, baroque, and other historical designs, yet want an instrument that feels approachable, stable, and affordable, the Play G4 offers a beautifully accessible entry point.
Convenient and Accessible
Unlike wooden flutes, which require careful oiling and humidity control or metal flutes, which tarnish and require servicing, Ceramic flutes are remarkably unfussy.
These flutes don’t require polishing, oiling or swabbing and aren’t hurt by hot or cold weather.
Simply leave the instrument to air dry after playing and store it in a dry location after use.

Built to Play
Most beginner instruments are built to maximise features in a price bracket.
PassionFlute Play was designed with a different philosophy — to inspire, to be enjoyable, and to be rewarding to play.
A Character of Its Own
With its specially engineered conical bore, inspired by the flutes of the 18th and 19th centuries, the PassionFlute Play in C5 offers a unique voice unlike modern mass-produced instruments.
This isn’t simply a beginners first flute. This flute is a companion with a personality all of its own.
Whether it’s your first flute, or an addition to a growing collection, you won’t find another instrument quite like this one.
